We have never worked anywhere else

We started fitting blinds in Tyldesley in 1983 and never got round to moving. Still family run, still the same job: measure it right, make it for that window and nothing else, hang it straight, then come back if anything is not right.

You will find us at 45 Castle Street. The showroom earns its keep, because a fabric that looks right under a shop light does not always look right in your front room.

We work for homes and for businesses. Most of the jobs we get come from somebody telling a neighbour about us. That has been the way of it from the start, and it is the only advertising that has ever really worked.

One pair of hands

Ring us and you speak to Simon. He comes out, measures up and works the price out in front of you, then comes back and fits them. No subcontractor turns up who has never seen the window.

• Nobody here is paid commission for selling you a bigger blind, so there is no script to sit through.
• The price worked out at your window is the price. It does not drop because you say you will have a think about it.
• We show you how the blinds work, then take the packaging away with us and hoover round before we go.

Two ways to get a quote

Some people like to come in and see everything laid out. Others would rather not leave the house. Either way the price is worked out for nothing, and there is nothing to sign at the end of it.

In the showroom the ranges are out on the shelves and the blinds on display actually work, so you can try the mechanisms before you decide on one.

If you would rather we came to you, we bring the books and hold the fabrics against your own walls, in your own light, next to your own floor. You will know in about four seconds whether one works.

Warranties, and what we do if something is wrong

Every blind we supply comes with the manufacturer's warranty. It varies by blind and by manufacturer, so ask us and we will tell you which warranty applies to the blind you are choosing before you order.

Separately from that: we fitted it, so if it sticks, drops or hangs crooked, ring us and Simon is back out. That is how we have always worked.

This is in addition to your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and does not affect them. Under that Act goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and because we both supply and fit, bad fitting counts as a fault. You can read how warranties work here.
